The offered fabric comes from the workshop of Tomihisa family from the Kurume region and it was made on mechanical looms from the turn of the XIXth and the XXth century. A 100% natural material and centuries-old tradition merged with a meticulous production process guarantee top quality.

Kurume kasuri is a traditional technique of artisanal weaving, which emerged 200 years ago on the Japanese island of Kyushu. The kasuri fabrics age with grace – they become softer and their patterns and colours more vibrant. More about that in the „technique” tab and in our blog.
